Kentucky's Anti Gay adoption bill is D.O.A. The controversial Senate Bill 68 that sought to ban anyone “co-habitating with a sexual partner outside of marriage” from adopting or fostering children is dead in the water, according to LezGetReal.com.

SB 68 will likely not be voted on this session. The bill's sponsor, Sen. Gary Tapp, R-Shelbyville, told the Courier-Journal. “It didn’t go anywhere this session.” The Republican leaders of the Senate never scheduled a vote for the floor and Tapp, "quit asking.”

The anti-gay adoption bill is now being viewed as a political liability. Sources in the Kentucky State House reveal the Senators have received masses of complaints from citizens against the bill, "most saying that they would think that a bill that takes away potential homes and adds costs to states taxpayers for the care of children in state custody 'was just plain dumb'".

Even if the discriminatory bill had made it's way out of the Senate, there would be little hope of it passing in the heavily Democratic House.
