"She's back," Variety declares on the cover of the newest issue, and we couldn't be more relieved, not to mention wildly intrigued. In 2007, after an epic fight on The View with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck that ended in tears and job-threatening fury, it seemed to be the longest of shots that Rosie would ever return to the drama-ridden daytime TV show. Lucky for us, when it comes to daytime TV, sometimes taking a risk can pay off (literally for Rosie, in terms of damn good TV for us) and on September 15th, Rosie will return to The View on the 18th season premiere. She's only signed a year-long contract, so she can take her leave in the event of another disaster, but we're holding out for a successful season. “I think it’s going to be must-see TV,” Rosie told Variety, "My goal is to come in peace. And the contrast between what the show will be and what it was is going to be glaring.”
Of course, there's been a massive change of View crew since 2007, with the show ditching co-hosts Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy, and even their executive producer Bill Geddie. Rosie will now be co-hosting with Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie Perez, and Republican stategist Nicolle Wallace. It's an entirely new View, and hopefully one Rosie will find her rightful place in this time. Since her last co-hosting gig, Rosie's gone through many personal life changes and is approaching this experience as positively as possible. “I don’t think it’s going to affect me the way that it did before," Rosie says, "But who knows? Let’s see how controversial it becomes.” Rosie, we can't wait.
