WNBA star Brittney Griner explains her tattoos in the fourth episode of AOL's web series My Ink, in which professional athletes share the stories behind their body art, writes AfterEllen. Griner currently plays for the Phoenix Mercury. She won the 2012-2013 Wade Trophy, is a two-time AP Player of the Year and was named a 2013 WNBA All-Star.
In the episode, Griner shows her "lesbian tattoo," two linked female symbols on her left hip that are designed to look like a brand. Griner also discusses in the video her coming out as a lesbian. The professional basketball player officially acknowledged her sexuality in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
Griner is confident in her own skin. "Society gives us a bad rep for having tats or being gay, so I'm like, well, let me just throw it all together in one and see how you like it," she said. "That's how I feel."
