Fans of Showtime's The Real L Word are definitely familiar with the show's infectious theme song "Hazy," but those fans may not realize it's the LA-based band Love Darling that's behind the music.
Still TRLW fans are likely to recognize Love Darling's guitarist/vocalist Shay Magro, who is happily engaged to Whitney's wise roomie Alyssa Morgan and who has appeared on the show a few times. In her professional life Shay makes beautiful indie music with band mates, bassist/keyboardist Mike Wolpe, and drummer Christian Trujillo.
The indie rock trio has been making unique sonic waves on the Los Angeles scene since 2010. With two EP's under their belts, Love Darling is ready to finish recording fresh tracks for their next full-length album, The Occupant Theory.
This, fair queer music fans and allies alike, is where YOU come in.
Love Darling has a new Kickstarter project to raise funds to record and release the album on vinyl. If you donate, you can score sweet rewards including one-of-a-kind goodies from Showtime's The Real L Word, Love Darling autographed cds, limited edition posters, vinyl release pre-orders, live performances, or even brushes with Real L Word alums like a custom body part mold courtesy of The Body Farm Studio (by Alyssa Morgan), or haircuts from master stylist Rachel Rodriguez.
Whether jamming out melodic rock songs, mad scientist synth sounds, or performing intimate acoustic shows, Love Darling’s rock-n-roll chemistry comes through loud and clear. Check out their first official music video for, “Unbelievable.”
