Wanda Sykes has been confirmed as the host of two hour-long specials, NewNowNext Vote with Wanda Sykes, on Logo that will focus on LGBT issues for the upcoming presidential election. The specials are an extension of the network’s NewNowNext brand.

The first of the two specials, which will both be taped in front of a live studio audience at the network’s Times Square studio, is set to air September 10 at 10:00 pm, after the conclusions of the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. The second special will air on November 5, the night before Election Day (specific time is still TBD).

Sykes, joined by a balanced roundtable of panelists representing all political parties, will focus on hot-button issues including the economy, healthcare and same-sex marriage, according to IndieWire.

“Wanda will be the perfect host for the specials, providing her one-of-a-kind take on LGBT concerns and challenges. She’s sure to entertain – and generate some discussion along the way,” Logo’s GM and EVP Lisa Sherman said of Sykes’ new gig.

"I'm excited to be working with Logo, the network that offers a voice to the LGBT community," Sykes said in a statement. "These specials will be thought provoking, exciting and the perfect forum to discuss important issues facing our community. Plus, it is Logo so maybe I'll get to dress in drag!”
