Help Filmmaker Jenni Olson Down 'The Royal Road'

Lesbian filmmaker Jenni Olson needs some help to complete her journey down The Royal Road.

That’s the title of her latest film, and she has a Kickstarter campaign going to raise funds to finish it. She describes the movie as “a lyrical new film contemplating butch lesbian desire, nostalgia, Casanova, a history of the Mexican-American War and so much more.” She explores El Camino Real, the road that connected the Spanish missions of California, and includes a brief lecture on nostalgia and socialism by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Tony Kushner (Angels in America).

Olson, who has received funding for the film from both institutional and individual donors, is trying to raise $20,000 via Kickstarter by Thursday. She has $5,000 to go to reach that goal.
