This week on CBS' The Talk the cohosts are telling secrets, and cohost Sara Gilbert revealed that her former Rosanne costar and boyfriend for a time, Johnny Galecki, held her secret that she was a lesbian for years during Roseanne’s run while Gilbert dated a woman 18 years her senior who was also in the public eye.

Gilbert told viewers that she and Galecki began dating, and although she thought he was really cute, she would get depressed after making out with him. She eventually explained to him that it was because she was gay, she said. She also said he was very sweet and understanding once she came out to him.

Gilbert, who is engaged to music mogul Linda Perry, also said that she is often still scared to talk about her personal life.

“There can still be a struggle, and that’s okay,” Gilbert said of the process of being out in the public eye.
