"We've really changed, conversationally."

This was never the way she planned, not her intention.

While watching YouTubers sing a handful of her hits, international superstar admits Katy Perry says she would make some major edits to her hit song 'I Kissed A Girl' if she released it in 2018.

When the song was first released ten years ago, opinions were split. The song skyrocketed to number one on the charts, and while some praised it as lesbian-friendly, many critics have said it reflected "the trivialization of queer female sexuality and the cultural norms which state that female sexuality exists for the pleasure of men."

"We've really changed, conversationally, in the past 10 years," she told Glamour Magazine."We've come a long way. Bisexuality wasn't as talked about back then, or any type of fluidity."

So what would 'I Kissed A Girl' look like if it were written in 2018? "If I had to write that song again, I probably would make an edit on it. Lyrically, it has a couple of stereotypes in it. Your mind changes so much in 10 years, and you grow so much. What's true for you can evolve."

The song will always hold a special place in my personal gay awakening.
