LGBTQ+ representation on screen is getting better every year, but Hollywood still has a huge problem showing not only positive portrayals of queer characters, but especially hot and sexy queer love scenes.
Despite some progress, queer love stories, kisses, and sex scenes still end up on the cutting room floor all the time. Luckily, popular projects in movies and TV are pushing the envelope.
Real LGBTQ+ couples are even showcasing their love on national television, so 2026 has already had a handful of steamy queer kisses for us to enjoy. To celebrate, we're ranking the best queer kisses that have graced our screens in 2026.

Joe Locke has quickly made a name for himself in Hollywood!
He first starred as a lovable gay high schooler in Heartstopperand then as a magical superhero in Agatha All Along, but now he may be slated to star in his boldest — and strangest — role yet.
Locke is rumored to be starring in the upcoming sci-fi horror movie Baby, which fans can’t stop talking about because of one taboo trope that is popular in gay fan fiction: mpreg (A.K.A. male pregnancy).
So far, there is very little information available about Baby, but according to the popular entertainment news account Film Crave on X (formerly Twitter), the upcoming movie stars Locke as “a young male sex worker who becomes pregnant with a mysterious creature.”
While Locke has yet to officially announce his involvement in the movie and the film isn’t listed under upcoming projects on his IMDB, he did make an oblique reference to Baby in his Instagram Stories today, where he posted a photo of himself holding a huge bouquet of flowers with the caption, “That’s a wrap BABY,” followed by an alien emoji.
Director Sam Max, known for his queer short films, lists Baby as his “forthcoming body horror feature debut,” produced by Luca Intili and Kindred Spirit, on his personal website.
Max has also posted photos from the film set on Instagram, including a disturbing image of an alien in a bathtub with a huge blood splatter on the wall.
There may not be much information available about the upcoming film, but that hasn’t stopped fans on social media from going wild thinking about one of their fave gay actors starring in a movie where he’s going to be impregnated by an alien.

But Leviticus, named for the Old Testament chapter often cited as justification for anti-LGBTQ laws and religious beliefs, is no laughing matter. The horror-romance, starring Talk to Me’s Joe Bird and up-and-comer Stacy Clausen, centers on young love that blooms in a hostile, small-town atmosphere, leading to horrific consequences.
The trailer for the film, which has been circulating online since its Wednesday release, shows Naim (Bird), being stalked by a scary approximation of his new high school crush, Ryan (Clausen). As if being the new kid weren’t already enough, it turns out that the small town that Naim’s mother (Mia Wasikowska) has moved him to houses a pastor hellbent on ridding its boys of homosexual urges. And an exorcism-gone-bad ends up saddling the young lovers with demonic stalkers who appear in the form of the person they desire most — each other.
The teenage-sex-has-consequences scenario has earned the film comparisons to indie horror hit It Follows. But it’s also part of a rich tradition of genre films that give voice to queer dread while delivering bone-chilling thrills.
“There’s this kind of secret history with horror films, isn’t there? That we’ve had great artists like Mary Shelley and James Whale and Murnau and Clive Barker and these queer artists that have really shaped horror into what it is now — sometimes, because they were operating in a taboo field when they were dealing with themes they wanted to address, sometimes not,” Chiarella said after a recent screening of the film at Lincoln Center and the Museum of Modern Art’s New Directors/New Films festival. “And I think what we did with this film was try to reclaim a little bit of that space back by making a queer horror movie.”
He added, “I think horror films are also just really fun, because they’re very visceral. They get to you through your body.”
Leviticus, which marks Wasikowska’s long-awaited return to the limelight, is being released by Neon in theaters June 19. Watch the trailer for the buzzy new horror flick below.
