10 Reasons Gay Men are Hyper Competitive
On the whole, the gay community is pretty competitive. Now being competitive, in itself, isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s what drives us. It’s what pushes us to succeed. However being competitive can turn into a bad thing if you’re unable to take pride in your friends' accomplishments or if you’re a sore loser. If that’s the type of competitive gay man you are, I’d recommend taking a deep breath and remembering that you don’t have to be perfect.
I think there are some particular reasons why gay men tend to be more competitive than straight men. Our upbringing, community, and partners all impact us in ways that drive competition. Here are ten unique reasons why the gay community is often hyper competitive.
