Rihanna remains unbothered as reports surface that claim the megastar declined to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show slot in Atlanta next February.
"The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year’s performer in Atlanta," an insider source told Us Weekly. "They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL’s stance."
A halftime show would've been a good publicity move for Rihanna's rumored double-album release next year, but the 30-year-old decided to stand with Kaepernick in solidarity.
Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick gained national attention when he kneeled during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial inequality. He hasn't played since the 2016 controversy.
After Rihanna declined, Maroon 5 "gleefully" accepted the offer in September and Cardi B is rumored to be joining them on stage.
