Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, starring Eliza Dushku, pulled in nearly 5 million viewers for its premiere Friday, doubling Fox's viewership among women.
For Whedon's latest sci-fi endeavor Dushku plays Echo, a pawn for an underground agency that reprograms her mind and skill set from episode to episode. With Whedon at the helm and Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumna Dushku starring, the show pulled in more viewers than its lead-in program, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, which drew 3.7 million viewers, Entertainment Weeklyreported.
Fox typically draws 5.5 million viewers on a Friday, but Dollhouse is expected to pick up steam over the long haul, according to EW.
