Damn right it's not a man!

We literally just posted about this announcement that Supergirl would be part of CBS' Monday lineup in the fall, but the internet moves with epic speed and moments ago the show's official first look was released. Great news, everyone - it's as awesome and hype-worthy as we hoped. In this nearly 7 minute clip, we get a glimpse at what seems like the entire pilot, and it's, well, super. Melissa Benoist, starring as Kara Zor-El, is immediately charming and seems to be channeling some of her cousin Clark's trademark adorkable charm with natural ease.

However, when it's time to get down to business, this bullet-deflecting badass knows how to get serious and literally crush trucks with her body. Did we say we love this show already? Cause we love this show already.

Now let's take a look at some fun little things we noticed in the trailer. A) There are three prominent musical theater performers in the cast. Melissa starred on Glee, but don't be fooled by the cast's normally over-produced vocals. This girl can sang. Additionally, Jeremy Jordan who plays Kara's coworker Winslow is a multi-credit Broadway star, as is Laura Benanti who plays Kara's mother Alura (she's also a simply fantastic human whose Twitter you should definitely follow). So is there a potential Supergirl musical episode in our future? Either way, we all know they'll find a way to sing somehow.

Let the drinking games commence! B) Kara seems to be ditching the super-secret disguise for a casually open lifestyle. Within this trailer alone her coworkers and family are pretty quickly informed about her superpowers and are supportive of her flying around town in that snazzy and efficient outfit. And C) Superman has totally given Kara his blessing to grace the very lucky CBS with her presence. We've got to agree with Clark on this one. Supergirl can take it from here.
