For the few lesbians who tuned into Two and a Half Men instead of, oh, say that Pretty Little Liars finale, there was a special treat as Holland Taylor cozies up to another lady.

Taylor, who plays Evelyn, the hip mother of Jon Cryer’s character, Alan, was forced into dinner with Alan’s girlfriend Lindsey’s compulsively critical un-hip mother, played by Georgia Engel, best known as Georgette on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Evelyn starts dinner with the three of them with an eye roll at Mrs. Mackelroy’s pedantic demeanor but after after listening to Evelyn talk on and on about her sexual conquests—while Alan and Lindsey stare mortified—Mrs. Mackelroy seems engaged and inspired.

After the senior duo takes a bathroom break together, Mrs. Mackelroy suddenly wants a tramp stamp like Evelyn and the two women ditch the kids for a night on the town. In the morning, as Alan and Lindsey apologize to Mrs. Mackelroy for his mother’s wanton behavior, she’s upbeat and positively defensive about Evelyn. When Alan says something akin to, “Well you don’t know her like I do,” then Mrs. Mackelroy says, “I think I got to know her pretty well.”

That’s when Evelyn comes into the room, says, “Good morning, darling” and kisses Mrs. Mackelroy on the lips.

Suddenly we realize the two senior citizens spent some time knocking boots last night and for Taylor’s queer girl fans—who’ve followed the is-she-or-isn’t-she star’s career for decades—all was right with the world. Until next week at least.
