If you’re a Glee diehard who stuck with the Fox series throughout last season’s barrage of newcomers and split personality formula (half of the show in NY and the other in Ohio) then you’ll be interested in the news that it’s a done deal that bisexual unicorn lover Brittany (Heather Morris, who is pregnant) will not return for the series’ 5th season, according to TV Line’s Michael Ausiello.
Others originals who will not return to Glee are Dianna Agron (Quinn), Amber Riley (Mercedes), Mark Salling (Puck) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike).
There is the possibility that all five originals who are not returning as regulars could make an occasional guest appearance, according to TV Line.
As for the love of Brittany’s life, the woman who gave her “sweet lady kisses” early on, Santana (Naya Rivera), will be back and still involved with the show’s New York contingent that includes Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer). While it’s tough to see Brittany go, Santana is slated to get a “serious” new girlfriend in the upcoming season, TV Line reported in mid-May.
