The Voice's Beverly McClellan Wins America's Votes: Vicci Martinez Kills on 'Jolene'

It was a great night for lesbians on NBC’s juggernaut reality show The Voice Tuesday with America voting to keep Beverly McClellan of “Team Christina (Aguilera),” thereby declaring her the de facto favorite of that team, and the amazing Vicci Martinez of “Team Cee Lo (Green)” delivering a smoldering rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”

It was a great night for lesbians on NBC’s juggernaut reality show The Voice Tuesday with America voting to keep Beverly McClellan of “Team Christina (Aguilera)” on the show, thereby declaring her the de facto favorite of that team, and the amazing Vicci Martinez of “Team Cee Lo (Green)” delivering a smoldering rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.”

Last week Beverly, clad in a kilt, killed on Melissa Etheridge’s “I'm The Only One,” amid strong performances from her teammates Frenchie Davis, Lily Elise and Raquel Castro. Unlike the young boys American Idol fans have been voting for in droves in recent years The Voice’s audience voted for Beverly, an out lesbian, to remain on the show while Christina Aguilera used her voting power to keep Frenchie on her team.

“Beverly, congratulations. I’m so, proud of you,” Christina told Beverly following the vote results. “We all know what an amazing talent you are but you’ve broken through boundaries and you’ve set your own with this show being such a strong competitor,” Christina added, referencing Beverly’s unique look, style and voice.

Meanwhile it was Team Cee Lo’s night to perform and the young powerhouse from Tacoma, Wash, Vicci Martinez, blew the doors off the theater with a raw delivery of the iconic song “Jolene.”

We’d cross our fingers that Vicci gets America’s vote for the save for team Cee Lo but there’s a week to vote to keep her in the running to be “The Voice.”

Here's Vicci's performance!
