Watch the Horrifying Swallowed Trailer, A New Queer Indie Thriller

Written and directed by out filmmakerCarter Smith, Swallowed is the latest queer indie thriller heading our way. The film follows two best friends going through a terrifying sequence of events that involve drugs, violence, and the wilderness.

The film stars Jena Malone (Alice), Cooper Koch (Benjamin), Jose Colon (Dom), and horror icon Mark Patton. Koch and Colon play the two best friends (who are definitely in love with one another) who go through the core storyline of the film.

The official synopsis of Swallowed reads, “After a drug run goes bad, two friends must survive a nightmarish ordeal of drugs, bugs, and horrific intimacy in this backwoods body-horror thriller.”

Unfortunately, this trailer dropped shortly after news broke that Patton, who first rose to fame as Jesse Walsh in A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge, is currently hospitalized “due to AIDS-related ailments” and his manager has created a GoFundMe page asking for support from fans.

“As his fans know very well, Mark takes his events very seriously and values any opportunity to meet with them in person – especially after the last few years with COVID seriously crippling those opportunities,” Patton’s manager, Peter Valderrama, wrote in the GoFundMe page. “Mark was truly looking forward to this show for quite some time but sadly his health has taken a drastic turn for the worse. He has been ill for quite some time now – originally it was thought to be aftershocks of COVID and some hefty infections that could potentially be tackled with care and rest. But now it is quite clearly AIDS-related ailments that he is managing.”

Valderrama also mentioned that Patton is in a hospital down in Mexico, noting that the actor is struggling to communicate with a healthcare team that isn’t necessarily fluent in English. Even though the initial goal of Patton’s GoFundMe was set at $18,000, the page has already garnered $40,000 from donors.

We are wishing Patton a speedy recovery while looking forward to watching another great acting performance of his in Swallowed.
