How to Convince Your Pokémon GO-Obsessed Bae to Hang Out With You

Is your bae trying to catch 'em all? We're here to help.

Pokémon GO was released to (most) of the world yesterday, and if the incessant tweeting, meme-ing and game crashing isn't proof enough — this app has become quite the obsession.

If you're not familiar with the game, well, you're probably reading the wrong post. But, essentially, Pokémon GO allows you to catch Pokémon in the "real world" through geo-location and augmented reality technology, using your phone's GPS and camera. As you work to "catch 'em all," you can battle in gyms, level up and do all sorts of Pokémon-y things. And if you don't know what a Pokémon is, well — we can't help you.

But seriously, this game is addicting. People are already admitting to skipping lunch breaks, rescheduling meetings and (oh lordy) even catching these little critters while driving. Some are even driving out of their way to hit up nearby "gyms" and "Poké Stops" (you know who you are).

Well, if your significant other has caught the Pokémon-bug, then you may be experiencing conversations that go something like:

You: "Hey, wanna come over tonight?"

Them: "Um, maybe. I just gotta ... ah ... hit up this ... 'gym' ...."

So if your bae is leaving you all "misty"-eyed, it's time to get up off your "ash" and "brock" their world with these handy convincing arguments:

1. "Let's go see Finding Dory ... I hear there's a Magikarp in the theatre!"

2. "Wanna go to the gym together? There's a Blue Team gym right next door!"

3. "Let's have some pool time. I promise I won't let your Charmander get wet."

4. "I found a Poké Stop by Taco Bell. Let's go!"

5. "I'll let you train during Netflix, as long as you put the phone down for Chill."

6. "Aw, you're running low on Poké Balls? Well, I have a couple for ya, right over here ...."

7. "Hey, I think there's an Onix in my pants. You better come check it out."
