Amazing Rainbow Turban Photo Goes Viral for Pride

Anything can be rainbow with a little effort.

The best thing about celebrating Pride is that it sees people from all walks of life coming together and celebrating in their own unique ways.

Jiwandeep Kohli embodied that spirit when he shared a photo of the rainbow-themed turban he made for Pride to Twitter on Saturday.

“I’m proud to be a bisexual bearded baking brain scientist,” he wrote. “I feel fortunate to be able to express all these aspects of my identity, and will continue to work toward ensuring the same freedom for others.”

Kohli immediately began receiving requests from other folks about where they could get a turban like his.

“Don’t think you can, I made this one myself,” he responded.

“[It’s] one of my normal black turbans that I supplemented with strips of other colors in exactly the right places,” Kohli added. “Took about an hour of tying, untying, and safety pinning, but totally worth it!”

Along with the hopefuls looking to snag a rainbow turban like Kohli’s, a number of people tweeted him simply to compliment both his look and his outlook.

We hope to see more posts like Kohli’s going viral this month. After all, June is the best time to celebrate both the differences that make us unique and the similarities that bring us together. Happy Pride!
