One of the easiest ways to diminish a lesbian couple is to ask, "which one is the man?" But surprisingly (or maybe not?), these sorts of ignorant questions are cornorstones for many queer couples.

Lesbian vlogger Ashley Mardell chronicled how some queer YouTube couples responded to these intrusive questions that never seem to stop:

Mardell consistently posts videos about LGBT topics, and oftens brings her girlfriend in to the mix. But this mashup video, brings together LGBT vloggers responding to invasive quesitons and it hits the deprecation nail on the head.

It's probably not hard to recall the times you've been asked ignorant questions, but when the experiences of numerous LGBT couples are put together, it shines a bright light on the unsettling truth.

"People always look at us and they're like ..."

"Who's the woman in the relationship?"

"Like I think that people get stuck on this idea that..."

"And it sounds like they're trying to assign masculine and feminine characteristics to relationships that only have masculine people..."

Some made really thoughtful obversations.

"I really don't thinks gender roles should have a role in a relationship..."

"The society we live in is heteronormative..."

"Who's the top? It's none of your business..."

Moral of the story? This is what it's like for LGBT couples on a daily basis.
