The film company behind the Twilight franchise has optioned the film rights to Pam Grier’s autobiography, Foxy, My Life in Three Acts, Deadline reports.

Foxy, a NY Times bestseller, offers a revealing look into Grier’s past relationships with Richard Pryor and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, her battle with cancer, and her personal (and career) disappointments and victories.

Imprint Entertainment’s Michael Becker will produce, and it’s rumored that Eunetta Boone is attached to adapt Grier’s story for the screen. Boone’s writing credits include the Halle Berry project, Who is Doris Payne, which is currently in development.

Foxy succeeds at a stark impression of Grier’s courage and inner strength without the use of rose-colored glasses,” Becker said.

Grier is best known for her action roles in the 70s, and is widely regarded as the first female action star. From Foxy Brown, to her critically acclaimed comeback in Tarantino’s Jackie Brown, to Kit Porter in Showtime’s The L Word, Grier transcends both film and television.

No release date has been announced at this time, stay tuned…
