Anna Torv and Jennifer Jason Leigh to Star as Lesbian Couple in New Ryan Murphy/HBO Drama

Get ready for more lesbians on TV as lesbians appears to be enjoying a Renaissance of sorts. Anna Torv and Jennifer Jason Leigh will be steaming it up Sapphic style in Ryan Murphy's new HBO pilot Open

Get ready for more lesbians on TV as lesbians appears to be enjoying a Renaissance of sorts. Anna Torv and Jennifer Jason Leigh have signed on to play a couple in Ryan Murphy's (Glee, American Horror Story) and Lauren Gussis (Dexter) HBO pilot Open, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Torv, who recently finished a five-year run on Fox's Fringe, stars as Windsor a yoga instructor in a long-term relationship with Holly, an actress who is “intensely committed to her career,” played by Golden Globe nominee Leigh (who has a certain intensity of her own).
Things start to get messy when Windsor meets and falls for a gynecologist named Grace who’s married to a sports agent (Scott Speedman).

THR describesOpen as “a multi-character exploration of the complex, ever-evolving landscape of sexuality, monogamy and intimacy in relationships...” Sounds like an R-rated version of Glee to us!

HBO has ordered the show to pilot in April.

There's no word on who's playing the Grace, but our vote is for Christina Ricci.
