Get ready for more lesbians on TV as lesbians appears to be enjoying a Renaissance of sorts. Anna Torv and Jennifer Jason Leigh have signed on to play a couple in Ryan Murphy's (Glee, American Horror Story) and Lauren Gussis (Dexter) HBO pilot Open, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Torv, who recently finished a five-year run on Fox's Fringe, stars as Windsor a yoga instructor in a long-term relationship with Holly, an actress who is “intensely committed to her career,” played by Golden Globe nominee Leigh (who has a certain intensity of her own).
Things start to get messy when Windsor meets and falls for a gynecologist named Grace who’s married to a sports agent (Scott Speedman).
THR describesOpen as “a multi-character exploration of the complex, ever-evolving landscape of sexuality, monogamy and intimacy in relationships...” Sounds like an R-rated version of Glee to us!
HBO has ordered the show to pilot in April.
There's no word on who's playing the Grace, but our vote is for Christina Ricci.
