Set your Tivo's, DVR's and vibrators because fierce fitness trainer and lesbian favorite, Jillian Michaels, has snagged her own reality show.
NBC announced Tuesday that they have given the green light for the upcoming reality show, appropriately titled Losing It With Jillian Michaels.
Variety reported that the show will feature Michaels as she moves in with a family each week, teaching them about wellness, exercise and nutrition.
Unlike The Biggest Loser, Losing It will be self-contained episodes.
Michaels says that her persona on the new realty weight loss show will be much different from her pop culture character on The Biggest Loser.
"On Biggest Loser I play a character of sorts," explained Michaels. "This show is very different. I'm not going to scream at a 10-year-old. You're going to see different aspects of my personality, and it's more about the biggest picture and not just being skinny."
I don't know about you, but I kind of want to see her scream at kids.
"I'm moving in with families across the country, getting down and dirty and rooting out bad habits in every corner of their lives that are preventing them from health and happiness. Get ready America because I'm heading out and you never know, I might just end up on your doorstep so watch out!" Said the tough love trainer.
Michaels is also set to executive produce the show. Reveille and Empowered Media, the new company set up last year by Michaels and her manager, Giancarlo Chersich, are producing. NBC has ordered eight segments of the series.
The show's title comes from Michaels' book about living a healthy lifestyle.
"I hear all the time from people about 'Oh, it'd be so easy to do if I was on the ranch, if I had a personal gym,' " Michaels said of The Biggest Loser's weight-loss success stories. "I got sick of hearing it. So we're telling people, we'll come to you and teach you how to be healthy."
Also set to star in the show is chef Curtis Stone, who will strip the home's kitchen of unhealthy foods and educate each family member on nutrition, cooking tips and healthy recipes.
"When your health is out of balance everything else suffers finances, relationships, work and family dynamics," Michael said in a press statement.
The soon-to-be-my-favorite show is expected to debut in 2010.
Michaels said production of Losing It is schedules to get under way in December and continue until early spring. She plans to juggle her role on the new show with her continued involvement on The Biggest Loser. She can juggle whatever she wants!
NBC is seeking families interested in participating in the show. I wonder if my cat and I constitute as a family...
