2023 hasn't been a lot of fun for SZA.

It's only February but SZA has had one hell of a year!

Her sophomore album SOS has reigned supreme at the top of the Billboard 200 chart for seven weeks, becoming one of the longest-running records to hold the spot in history – and SZA is eternally grateful to her fans. “Right now, I just have extreme gratitude because I swear to God, I never thought I’d be No. 1 for even a week, let alone seven,” she told Billboard in a recent interview.

Despite all the success, she's still surprised at the success of the recent single, "Kill Bill", which peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been battling for the top spot against the latest singles from Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, especially since that song, in particular was "super easy" and only took one take and one night to record in the studio.

“I knew it would be something that pissed me off," she said. "It’s always a song that I don’t give a f*ck about, that’s just super easy [that does well], not the sh*t that I put so much heart and energy into.”

Not to say she doesn't love the song, but it's never song you think will blow up that actually does. Regardless, SZA remains humble.

“To even be in the conversation with Taylor [Swift] and Miley [Cyrus], even the fact that our fans are fighting, is ridiculous because it’s like, ‘How?’" Clearly, SZA still underestimates her popularity. “I just really appreciate the opportunity to be in that conversation at all. It’s something I never dreamed of.”

SZA recently announced the deluxe version of SOS, which will include an extra 10 songs.
