The fans fell in love with the character of Queen Charlotte (played by Golda Rosheuvel) while watching the first two seasons of Bridgerton, and she is now getting her own spinoff prequel series on Netflix.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will follow the rise of a young Queen Charlotte to the position of power that she occupies on the original show. The spinoff is now confirmed to premiere May 4 on the streaming service. Actress India Amarteifio has been cast in the role of young Queen Charlotte.

The cast of Queen Charlotte also features Arsema Thomas (young Lady Danbury), Connie Jenkins-Greig (young Violet Ledger), Sam Clemmett (young Brimsley), and Corey Mylchreest (young King George III). The series was written by Shonda Rhimes and directed by Tom Verica.
This expansion of the Bridgerton universe is certainly exciting for fans of the original series. It also opens the doors to more prequel and sequel spinoffs outside of the main continuity of the show.
