Amandla Stenberg continues to be one of our ultimate faves.
The recently-out actress/activist/speaker/director/writer/all-around insanely-talented woman continues to wow us will her skill, wit, brain, charm, and well-spokenness. This week is no exception.
On Tuesday Stenberg took to Instagram to announce the release of Blue Girls Burn Fast, a short film she wrote, directed, edited, and shot. The film was a passion project made with some of Stenberg's best friends that doubled as her NYU application film.
Stenberg wrote that the film was made "with a DSLR camera and lots of love."
The 18-minute film is about Andy, a young girl trying to find her footing in a new environment, one that includes a foster home and foster parent she hasn't quite figured out. Her life becomes altered even further when she meets Lea, a fascinating and highly mysterious girl, under unexpected circumstances.
"[The film is] very personal to my heart," Stenberg wrote. "I hope you enjoy!"
The film is available for viewing on Vimeo. It is classified as a dramatic narrative.
