'Tomboy' and 'Heavenly Creatures' To Be Released on DVD

Peccadillo Pictures announced the UK release of Tomboy September 16^th coming November 25^th to the U.S. and the UK Blu-ray and DVD release of Peter Jackson’s influential Heavenly Creatures, on September 12^th.

Heavenly Creatures, based on the true story of obsessive friends with a rich fantasy life that leads to matricide in  1950’s New Zealand, launched the careers of Kate Winslet, who went on to become an Oscar-winning  mega-star, and Melanie Lynskey the wonderful LGBT ally who has since appeared in But I’m a Cheerleader, The L Word and Two and a Half Men.

Tomboy tells the story of Laure, a ten-year-old girl who moves to a new neighborhood over the summer and introduces herself to her new neighbors as a boy named Michael. As summer progresses, a mutual crush between Michael and his new friend Lisa, develops. However, summer ends, school must begin, and her secret is out.

Tomboy has made its mark in the film festivals across the globe, winning four various awards at Berlin International Film Festival, Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, San Francisco international Lesbian & Gay Film Festival and Torino International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
