Watch: Ellen Stumps for Bic Lady Pens

Ellen DeGeneres takes on the sexist marketing of the pink and purple "Bic for Her" pens, featuring a slender barrel "for a a woman's hand."

Last month, news of a Bic pen specifically designed "for her" spawned a hilarious cacophony of snarky, sarcastic comments on the product's Amazon page. Now, Ellen DeGeneres has joined the party, adding her characteristic sarcasm-disguised-as-sweetness to the fray on Friday's episode of her daytime talk show, Ellen. The pens, which are billed as featuring an "elegant design — just for her!" and a "thin barrel to fit a woman's hand," come in lady-like pastel color schemes.

DeGeneres laid into the sexist marketing ploy, pointing out, "They're just like regular pens, except they're pink, so they cost twice as much."

Reminding us how spot-on she can be as a stand-up comic, DeGeneres asks what possible use a modern woman might have for such a needlessly gendered everyday object. "So, when we're taking down dictation from our bosses, we'll feel comfortable, and we'll forget we're not getting paid as much?"

DeGeneres' riff continues with a faux commercial she produced when the company allegedly asked her to be the spokesperson for Bic for Her. In a fabulously awful "Mom" wig, DeGeneres tells her fictional daughter in the ad, "When you have an opinion, you write it down on a piece of paper, and then crumble it up and throw it away, because no one wants to know our opinion, sweetheart."
