WATCH: Robin Roberts Speaks Openly About Her Girlfriend Amber Laign on GMA
Robin Roberts came out over the holidays, and yesterday on GMA she debuted a photo of her with her girlfriend.
Over the holidays Good Morning America co-anchor Robin Roberts came out when she posted a moving letter to her Facebook page about her gratitude for those who helped her get through her battle with myleodysplastic syndrome in 2012. Among those she thanked was her girlfriend Amber Laign, Roberts first mention of being in a same-sex relationship.
Roberts wrote:
“At this moment I am at peace and filled with joy and gratitude.
I am grateful to God, my doctors and nurses for my restored good health.
I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life.
I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together.”
Back from the holidays Roberts spoke openly about Laign on air when discussing her holiday vacation. A photo of the couple together also flashed on the screen. Roberts said that after coming out, "I've never been happier or healthier than I am right now."
After keeping that part of her life to herself for however long, it’s wonderful to see Roberts express herself freely. Watch Roberts below!
