Hilarious Sketch Asks What LGBTQ Voters Really Think of Pete Buttigeig

"I want him to care about the margins and leave the Dockers at home."

What do LGBTQ+ people really think of the presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg? Comedian Jaboukie Young-White investigates in a new sketch on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

The correspondent sat down with some queer people in NYC to ask what they think of the Mayor, how far we've come as a community, and reveal Buttigieg supporters' largest base among the community: Equinox Gays.

Sure the clip is ridiculous, but it really sets out to settle this idea that Buttigieg is not "gay enough" (whatever that means), a common call-out from LGBTQ+ critics.

"So you want him to wear a leather harness and you want him and Chasten to open their relationship and you want him to be poly?" Young-White asks the room satirically.

"We just want him to actually pay attention to the policing problem," responds one voter.

Mayor Pete's candidacy is history-making, but it means very different things for different members of the LGBTQ+ community. But at the very least, we can all agree that "Pete 2020, I'm taking Trump to Pound Town" is a terrible campaign slogan.
