Big first-time wins included Modern Family as Best Comedy, The Big Bang Theory for Best Actor in a Comedy, Edie Falco as Best Actress in a Comedy in Nurse Jackie and Kyra Sedgwick for Best Actress in a Drama in The Closer - her first win in 5 nominations. Mad Men also took its third Emmy for Best Drama, and Jane Lynch took home the Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy for Glee.
