Maria Bello is, in her words, "a proud member of the LGBT community." In this GLAAD: All Access interview she identifies as a Catholic, feminist and "at least 15" gender options on Facebook.

Bello has been at the forefront of the LGBT modern family conversation after her New York Times article was published propelling the discussion on how we label families. Saying in the interview that "traditional labels, can be limiting and outdated." She is now continuing that conversation in her new book Whatever...Love is Love.
