What's a memorable wedding without some tears?

Amrit Kapai and Nicholas Kouchoukos have invited audiences to watch every step of their journey as they gear up to walk down the aisle.

In this weekend's new episode, the couple hit a rough patch just before their special day with Kapai's parents, Suresh and Lavina.

Since Kapai comes from an Indian background, his adorable parents want to keep as many traditions as possible, despite it being a gay wedding.

However, Kouchoukos wants to make the final decisions on how his wedding will proceed. Plus, he doesn't have as much support from his own family since they come from a Christian background.

The disagreements come to a head as the families travel to Atlanta for the big celebration.

"It was just an emotionally exhausting conversation. I went into this feeling like I had allies in Amrit's parents and as the conversation evolved, I felt like part of that went away. It is really difficult to deal with. It's hard," Kouchoukos tells PRIDE.

"While my mom is buying a rainbow purse and rainbow shoes, she was still processing through all of this," Kapai adds. "She was bottling up a lot of insecurities with this whole coming out process and I think that's absolutely natural."

Audiences are divided when it comes to the cultural clash between the two wedding parties, with many resonating with Kouchoukos' story of struggling to come out from a deeply religious background.

"It's been heartwarming to look at all of the messages I receive from people within the Evangelical community. [They're] saying my prospective is valid [and] I'm loved. That makes it all worth it. We're doing this for a purpose. We're sharing this story to bring light to these issues and to let people know that we're not alone," Kouchoukos says.

"It comes with a lot of responsibility. We want people to be inspired by our story. Hopefully when they see our story, they realize they can have a family [and] they can have a blissful marriage. It's not out of the picture just because you're gay," Kapai adds.

Despite the bumpy road, Kapai and Kouchoukos are ensuring fans that their special day is worth the wait.

"If a young viewer at home can see us and see themselves in our story, then that just makes it all the more worth it," Kouchoukos concludes.
