"I’m truly honored & humbled to be headlining @LOVELOUDfest this year," the bisexual pop star said when she took to Twitter to share the news with her fans.
Started and founded in 2017 by straight ally and Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds, LOVELOUD was launched in response to the deadly impact of anti-LGBT stances taken by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Reynolds was raised Mormon) and to help "progress the relevant and vital conversation about what it means to unconditionally love, understand, accept, and support LGBTQ+ youth in our communities." The festival takes place yearly in Utah, the state where the Mormon Church is based.
"LOVELOUD is back again this year and stronger than ever," Reynolds said about this year's festival in a statement. "We are excited to celebrate our LGBTQ youth through music and spoken word. My hope is that they feel loved, accepted and perfect just the way they are. I invite all the political and religious leaders of Utah to join us as we show our LGBTQ youth that they are not just loved, but truly accepted and appreciated."
The LOVELOUD Festival is set to take place on June 29 at Utah's USANA Amphitheatre. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 15 at 10am MST. Buy them here!
And for those of you who can't make it to Utah in June, LOVELOUD will also be streaming on AT&T's social channels!
