Students on the British game show University Challenge aren’t getting any love from Charli XCX fans after they hilariously failed to identify one of her songs during a recent episode.

This particular music round of the long-running game show saw students asked to listen to two song clips — both written by the same artist, but one featuring them performing their own song and another featuring a different performer’s recording of a song they wrote earlier in their career.

In this case, Trinity College students were given a clip of Charli XCX’s “Vroom Vroom” followed by “I Love It” by Icona Pop (which was, of course, written by Charli as well).

The music left the whole team stumped, and fans of the British pop star were aghast at the disrespect.

“Embarrassing for @Cambridge_Uni that their cleverest students couldn't even name this modern masterpiece,” wrote @louis4663, speaking some hard truths.

People also immediately pointed out that this would have been a home run for the gays.

Sadly enough, another set of songs Trinity students failed to recognize included “Womanizer” by Kesha and “Till the World Ends” by Britney Spears (written by Ke$ha).

We apparently need to send a gay agenda rep to do outreach to Gen Z, stat!
