It was battle of the uber heteros on Tuesday's The View when conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck went after America's favorite love-to-hate mother of eight! Hasselbeck said that Jon and Kate Gosselin's show, Jon & Kate Plus Eight, about their life with the eight kids they've popped out, should be taken off air already. Hasselbeck's opinion is that "they shouldn't have a show" and feels that Gosselin should "get a job."
The View co-host Sherri Shepherd pointed out that the reality show has become Jon and Kate's job, in addition, of course, to Kate being a mom. Hasselbeck doesn't care because "its not healthy for the kids."
She feels strongly that they need to "get the camera off the kids!" Which, from one baby-maker to another, is some pretty good advice. Granted, neither Shepherd or Hasselbeck admit to watching the show at all.
The only member of The View panel who does admit to indulging in the crowded reality TV madness of a show, Barbara Walters, has the best perspective on the matter. She said she thinks "if you have more than five children, you shouldn't be allowed to get divorced."
Walters received quite the enthusiastic applause from the audience in agreement.
