Slowly but surely, mainstream sports are becoming more and more LGBT-inclusive.

According to PinkNews, the Los Angeles Rams football team are set to becoming corporate sponsors for this weekend's Venice Pride event in Venice Beach, Calif., making them the first National Football League team in history to sponsor a Pride festival.

"We are proud to work with Venice Pride and to stand in alignment with the LGBT community that is such an important part of the fabric of Los Angeles," said Molly Higgins, the Rams' vice president of community affairs, in a statement to PinkNews. "Inclusion has always been a valued part of our organization and we see this as a unique way to publicly celebrate the diversity that makes this community so special."

This news comes on the heels of fellow NFL team the New England Patriots sponsoring Boston's Gay Bowl, a national flag football tournament specifically for members of the LGBT community.
