If you feel like you’ve had metaphorical whiplash in the short days since Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, you’re not alone. From the solidarity and positivity surrounding the record-breaking women’s marches to Trump making it more difficult for women around the world to get access to safe health care,  it’s been tough for many to remain positive about the future, including us. That's when we found this video from Ellen DeGeneres's show a few days ago in which LGBT celebs and allies thanked President Obama for all he did for the community.

In the eight years that President Obama was in office, LGBT people saw the end of DADT, the end of DOMA and the beginning of national marriage equality, as well as the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act -- and that’s just the beginning.

“Thank you,” said people including Portia de Rossi, Jim Parsons, Evan Rachel Wood, Laverne Cox, Colton Haynes, Jonathan Groff, George Takei, and Lily Tomlin.

“You were the first President that even uttered the word transgender, and I hope that you will not be the last,” said Orange Is the New Black star, Laverne Cox.

Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood thanked Obama for “…changing the way people thought about us, and honestly, the way I thought about myself.”

Watch the beautiful thank you montage below.
