High Drama is going to bring just that.

Adam Lambert has a new album on the way and you’re gonna want to get your ears on it. The album, entitled High Drama, is a collection of covers and classics including Culture Club’s “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me,” a glam rock remake of Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out For A Hero,” and Anne Peeble’s “Can’t Stand the Rain”.

Lambert also gives his unique spin to some contemporary bangers including Billie Eilish’s “Getting Older,” Sia’s “Chandelier,” and Lana Del Rey’s “West Coast”.

“The idea came up to do an album of covers, and I haven’t done that before,” Lambert told Yahoo! Entertainment. “I’ve done that on Idol, obviously… and Queen is essentially sort of a covers situation, even though I’m in the band. It was like a real nice challenge to go, ‘OK, let’s find songs’ — some are obscure, some are new, some are really well-known — ‘that we think are cool, and flip them and make them sound entirely different if we can.’”

ADAM LAMBERT on Instagram: “Ordinary World” is officially out now and excited to finally share that you can pre-order my album ‘High Drama’ out on February 24th 🌈 Pre-save at the link bio."

Lambert added that, surprisingly, in creating this cover album he felt more like himself than ever. “It’s just me, just doing me. And it actually feels really good, because I think in the past I might have been trying to manufacture something or run toward a trend or a sound,” he said. “And I think with this album, even though they’re covers, we’ve managed to make them sound and feel original enough, so they’re like my kind of records. It just feels like we’re doing it without thinking about it, in a way. I’m not trying to do a theme or a sound. I just am doing it. It just feels very natural, which is really nice.”

Dying to hear the new album? It drops on February 24. You don’t need to wait until then to get a taste of what’s to come, as Lambert’s already released two tracks: a cover of Duran Duran’s “Ordinary World” and Noél Coward’s “Mad About the Boy”.
