Sometimes you don’t want a serious relationship. You’re a grown adult. The stickier situation comes when you don’t want anything serious, but your fuck buddy (FB) secretly does. Of course he would never admit it openly and would carry that secret with him to his grave, but here are some tell tale signs your FB is secretly obsessed with you.
1. He’s constantly in your neighborhood.
Hey! I’m in your hood if you wanna hang. ;)
How? He lives on the other side of town and doesn’t work near you.
2. He’s not seeing anyone else.
He needs to see other people or you’re going to feel guilty. You cannot emphasize this enough. PLEASE SEE OTHER PEOPLE.
3. He always wants to spend the night.
You love cuddling, but spending the night? You tried that already. He hogged the blankets, snored, and woke up every three hours to go pee. Sorry, but he needs to go home.
4. He gives you that look when you stop kissing.
The wide-eyed if-only-you-knew-how-much-I-really-liked-you look that makes you cringe with regret.
5. He lingers.
Why can’t he see he’s overstayed his welcome. You weren't lying when you said you needed to wake up in six hours for work. Just go already.
6. He dresses up/cleans himself up for booty calls.
Don’t dress up. Don’t do that. Now you feel ridiculous for coming over in sweatpants.
7. He's fine with not finishing.
There’s something noble about letting your partner finish and not requesting any form of reciprocation. But when it’s a strictly casual encounter, that altruism is coming from a more loving place.
If your FB is doing all these things, you have to let him go. He clearly wants something more than you want to give him.
