There's a Pride-tastic Easter Egg in the new Spidey game!

The new Marvel's Spider-Man video game for Playstation 4 was just released last Friday, and gaymers everywhere are freaking out (for good reason) over one of the game's surprising hidden gems: a rainbow-colored Pride flag.

The Pride-tastic Easter Egg (which The Mary Sue reports can be seen in various places in the game) was noticed by science fiction and fantasy writer Saladin Ahmed, and he took to Twitter to share the news.

"Wow. I stopped to perch on a building in #Spidermanps4 and looked over and saw this," he wrote, alongside a picture of Spider-Man next to the rainbow flag from the video game. "Thinking about all the 12-year-old kids who will be playing this game and seeing this in towns where it's not safe to put that flag up."

"Not saying that it's some radical move, but just as someone who came up 30 years ago playing Spider-Man video games with boys who constantly hurled homophobic insults at each other IRL this is...different," he continued.

Once Ahmed's tweet went viral, Spidey fans from all over voiced their support for the small but inclusive gesture.

Marvel's Spider-Man (Sony Interactive/Insomniac Games) is available now wherever video games are sold.
