Detective Pikachu Trolls Fans With Fake YouTube Leak
This is the most adorable movie leak in cinema history!
With the anticipation surrounding our very first live-action deep dive into the world of Pokémon, it's no surprise that fans are anxious to get their hands on a pirated copy of Detective Pikachu (starring Ryan Reynolds in the title role) any way they can.
In an effort to crack down on the influx of pirates, while also hilariously troll fans of the beloved yellow critter, Warner Bros. released a "full upload" of the movie to YouTube...
...but people who were expecting to see the entire movie early were instead treated to nearly two hours of Pikachu dancing his butt off and being cute as hell while doing so.
Obviously this version of Detective Pikachu is not intended for a theatrical debut, but nonetheless, it is a welcome troll to the fans who will be spending their paycheck at the box office when the film comes out this weekend. In the meantime, we've got a literal hour and a half of the adorable Pikachu dancing to ’80s music. (If there ever was fine art, this is it!)
Detective Pikachu hits theatres worldwide this Friday, May 10! Catch the trailer in the video below!
