During a grilling session on The View, beleaguered Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich told the co-hosts that he and his team had considered Oprah Winfrey to fill President Barack Obama's Senate Seat.

"We discussed Oprah," Blagojevich told Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and Joy Behar.

"She's an African American woman who probably, by herself, has more influence than 100 senators," Blagojevich said. "She was instrumental in electing Barack Obama President. She clearly could use her bully pulpit to do good things for people."

However, Blagojevich said that his team never reached out to Winfrey to offer the yet unfilled Senate Seat. He said that the question of how to contact Winfrey was a stumbling block for him.

"Would she take the call?" he said. "Oprah's Oprah and I'm just the Governor of Illinois."

The Governor's jab at humility caused Goldberg to let out a disbelieving "What?"

Shepherd chimed in saying that she's pretty sure Winfrey would take the call.
