The Good Wife just continues to pack in the top-notch talent, especially when it comes to casting actresses in recurring roles. Yesterday it was announced that ER and Rescue Me star Maura Tierney would join CBS’s critically acclaimed drama for a recurring role as the “doyenne of Chicago politics” and today it was announced that the inimitable Kristin Chenoweth will be joining the show as a political reporter.
The LGBT ally and star of Glee, Pushing Daisies, Wicked on Broadway and the short-lived but well-loved GCB will go toe to toe with Julianna Margulies’ Alicia and her on-screen hubby Peter (played by Sex and the City’s Chris Noth).
“Chenoweth will match wits with both Alicia and Peter in her role as a top-of-her-game political reporter who wants to know more about the Florrick campaign and marriage,” according to CBS.com. She will make her first appearance in the season premiere CBS.com reports.
With the additions of Chenoweth and Tierney The Good Wife continues to draw amazing actresses. The list of actresses who’ve played strong women on the show include Martha Plimpton, Mamie Gummer, Parker Posey, Rita Wilson, Lisa Edelstein, Carrie Preston, Anika Noni Rose, Mary Beth Peil, Elizabeth Reaser, Kelli Giddish, Monica Raymund and Sarah Silverman.
