The Advocate annual "40 Under 40" list is out and some our favorite lesbian ladies made the cut, including Cherry Bomb's stand-up comic extraordinaire Gloria Bigelow and Sweet travel founder Shannon Wentworth.
Bridging the age gap between Gen X and Gen Y, this year's selection of young activists, artists, and other standouts is proof the qualities that make a leader are often innate-and that the gay movement is still in good hands, writes the Advocate.
Other women on the list include Mississippi Damned director Tina Mabry, the exquisitely buff The Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels, activist Mia Mingus, International Ms. Leather 2009 Lamalani, and Olympic medalist for speed skating, Irene Wust.
But don't take our word for it. Check out Advocate's full list that runs the gamut for the LGBT community.
