New Kelly Clarkson Single A Beyonce Rip-Off?

Some fans of Beyoncé are up in arms over the questionable similarity of Kelly Clarkson's new single 'Already Gone' and Beyoncé's balladic ditty 'Halo.' Did the very first American Idol rip-off diva Beyoncé? Hell no. In fact, it might just be that Beyoncé's song is the knock-off.

Some fans of Beyoncé are up in arms over the questionable similarity of Kelly Clarkson's new single "Already Gone" and Beyoncé's balladic ditty "Halo." Did the very first American Idol rip-off diva Beyoncé? Hell no. In fact, it might just be that Beyoncé's song is the knock-off.

There's no doubt that Beyoncé's "Halo" and Kelly Clarkson's "Already Gone" are a bit too close for comfort. But Clarkson wants her fans to know she absolutely did not rip anyone off. According to PerezHilton.com, Clarkson's song was already in production before Beyoncé's was even underway. If anyone is to blame though, Clarkson says it certainly isn't her. No, the fail belongs entirely to songwriter/producer Ryan Tedder. Kelly Clarkston's "Already Gone" video:

Clarkson apparently met Tedder at her record label and ended up writing six songs together, five of which ended up on her new album. One of those songs was "Already Gone." Well, it turns out that Ryan
Tedder gave a very similar tune to Beyoncé's team and that tune ended up as "Halo."

Even worse, Beyoncé's team was apparently in a rush to get her album out and it hit the presses before Clarkson's was quite finished. So although Clarkson's tune was created first, Beyoncé's hit the airwaves before the former American Idol's could be released.

Clarkson, naturally, was pissed. "No one's gonna be sittin' at home, thinkin'... Ryan Tedder gave Beyoncé and Kelly the same track to write to," Clarkson said in a press statement. "No, they're just gonna be sayin I ripped someone off."

After being unable to convince her record label not to release "Already Gone" as a single, Clarkson called up Ryan Tedder and reportedly gave him quite an earful about his double-timing.
