J.C Penney Employee Sent Home for Wearing Too Short Shorts from Penney's Career Section
Sadly today's culture of body-shaming, treating women as if they are objects and are responsible for preventing men from being "tempted" or "distracted" by them (see also rape culture), is alive and well for everyone to see in pretty much all walks of life. Just recently we saw a rash of young women being kicked out of their proms for such heinous crimes as backless dresses and a flash of cleavage under lace. But the latest story, which caught our eye had us spitting coffee across the keyboard thanks to its sheer ludicrousness. J.C. Penney employee Sylva, who goes by the name of "queenfeminist" on Twitter, found herself sent home to change after she wore a pair of shorts to work because, gee, maybe it was a hot day. She'd purchased the shorts from her employers' "Career" department, presumably because her company deemed them suitable for wearing to work. D'oh. Sylva explains the situation... with an unequivocal hand gesture for good measure.
The sensible residents of the Twitterverse agree...

“@queenfeminist @VivianMartin_ Well of course. Because you have exposed KNEES and we all know that's practically inviting sex #idiots”— Reaghan Haide (@Reaghan Haide) 1437757272
“@queenfeminist As woman we shouldn't have to change our wardrobe because men don't have self control. #learntokeepitinyourpants”— ❄❄❄ (@❄❄❄) 1437774273
Of course, there are some douches. Of course.

We'll grow up when men grow up and stop being oversexed teenage boys, thanks.
