Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are ready to celebrate in style.

Our first look at the Harley Quinn V-Day special, A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day, dropped this week, promising a return to the chaotic duo that have captivated audiences for the past three seasons.

While the trailer has Harley waxing poetic about a “bulletproof excuse for doing cheesy shit for your partner” for 24 hours thanks to Valentine’s Day, it immediately becomes clear that shenanigans are afoot in Gotham, with romance and raunchy rendezvous at the center of it all.

The official synopsis for the episode reads as follows:

“As Harley goes to obsessive lengths to ensure that her first Valentine’s Day with Ivy is the best ever, Bane’s efforts to impress an unexpected date go horribly awry. Meanwhile, after an unfortunate online dating encounter, Clayface engages in some self-love.”

The third season of the irreverent HBO Max show came to a conclusion in September, with the fourth season expected to premiere sometime this year. Sarah Peters, who has worked on the show since the end of season one, will be taking over showrunner duties from creators Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker.

With HBO Max canceling inclusive and animated shows left and right, having more Harley Quinn to look forward to is a rare bright spot amidst the darkness — and having this Valentine’s Day special in between seasons is an added bonus fans are already jonesing to take in.

Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day will begin streaming February 9 on HBO Max.
