Cast Your Vote: Who Is the Gay Icon of This Generation?

If not Ariana, then who?

cornbreadsays

Earlier this week, Billboard Magazinenamed Ariana Grande the "Gay Icon of Her Generation" and met mixed (and heated) reviews. While many celebrated the LGBT ally's icon status, others wondered why an actual queer person has yet to be given the title. Past "gay icons" have included the likes of Madonna, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Cher, Britney Spears, and even Beyoncé. But in 2017, is it time to pass the torch to someone in the community, or is advocacy work and popularity enough?

The controversy has us at PRIDE wondering who is the gay icon of our generation? We decided to gather our favorite queer (and queer adjacent) musicians under 30 to answer the question on everyone's mind.

Now it's up to you decide.
