Family Research Council Uses Sexual Assualt to Further its Hateful DADT Agenda

A homophobic pinhead at the Family Research Council - the good people responsible forĀ  bringing you discrimination, I mean faith-based Family Values-asserts that rates of sexual assault among people of the same gender would skyrocket if gays are allowed in the military.

Peter Sprigg, Senior Fellow for Policy Studies at the antigay Family Research Council alleges they reviewed all the case synopses of 1,643 reports of sexual assault reported by the four branches of the military for the Fiscal Year 2009.

"Our startling finding was that over eight percent (8.2%) of all the military are about three times more likely to commit sexual assaults than heterosexuals," Sprigg wrote. He also said that many discharges under "don't ask, don't tell" were for sexual assaults, though the report does not disclose any percentages or figures.

We at SheWired would like to respectfully assert that the FRC likely cherry picked reports to fit its agenda. And we'd like to ask these misinformed ideologues if they even give a fuck about those female soldiers who face sexual assault, harassment and general disrespect from their good ole straight American boy colleagues day in and day out?

If you have the stomach for it, here's the FCR's full misguided Op-Ed.
